America’s Pledge and We Are Still In have joined forces!

Mayors, governors, and business leaders first began signing the We Are Still In declaration in June 2017 as a promise to world leaders that Americans would not retreat from the global pact to reduce emissions and stem the causes of climate change. The bipartisan coalition expanded to include over 3,952 leaders from all 50 states, spanning large and small businesses, mayors and governors, university presidents, faith leaders, tribal leaders, and cultural institutions.

We Are Still In (WASI) signatories represent 159 million people, with a collective GDP of $9.6 trillion, a bigger economy than any nation other than the U.S. or China.

The U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce has been working with the We Are Still In effort alongside The American Sustainable Business Council, B Team, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Center for American Progress, Ceres, CDP, Climate Mayors, Climate Nexus, C40, C2ES, Environmental Defense Fund, Environmental Entrepreneurs, Georgetown Climate Center, ICLEI, National League of Cities, Rocky Mountain Institute, Second Nature, Sierra Club, Sustainable Museums, The Climate Group, We Mean Business, World Resources Institute (WRI), and World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Expanding upon the WASI commitment, AMERICA IS ALL IN is the most expansive coalition of leaders ever assembled in support of climate action in the United States. Mobilizing thousands of U.S. cities, states, tribal nations, businesses, schools, and faith, health, and cultural institutions, the coalition is working alongside the federal government to develop a national climate strategy that meets the urgency of the climate crisis, scaling climate action around the country to empower workers and communities, and promoting the leadership of non-federal actors on the world stage.

Led by Mike Bloomberg, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Climate Ambition and Solutions, Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, CommonSpirit Health CEO Lloyd Dean and climate champions across the country, the coalition is working to cut U.S. emissions in half by 2030* and reach net zero emissions by 2050, while guarding against the impacts of climate disruption. Coupled with whole-of-government action on climate, America Is All In champions a whole-of-society mobilization to deliver the transformational change that science demands, with the goal of a healthy, prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future.
