U.S Green Chamber Chairman Visits Brazil Ahead of Massive U.N.
Conference on Sustainable Development
by Peter Zahn
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the first Earth Summit, which took place in Rio de Janeiro. The 1992 gathering kicked off a series of United Nations environmental conferences that have been held in places like Kyoto, Copenhagen, and – most recently – Durban, South Africa. On June 22-24 Rio will host the massive U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development (dubbed “Rio+20”). In addition there will be approximately 500 seminars and meetings prior to the Summit itself.

Green cleaners fight an uphill
battle to establish market share and build wider distribution. Meanwhile,
cheaper name brand rivals enjoy massive advertising budgets and a history of
consumer loyalty. However, ignorance may be the biggest obstacle that green
cleaning products have yet to overcome.

The Golden State Is Still Golden
Earlier today Green Chamber’s CEO, David Steel, sent a rebuttal in reply to a conservative editorial called “Top Ten Reasons Why Companies Are Leaving California”. We don’t take kindly to folks dissing The Golden State, and shamelessly applaud David’s positive pin on California commerce, which stands to reap billions in economic and environmental benefits from the new Cap and Trade program.
