What inspired you to launch a green business?
What inspired me to launch a green business is the fact that I found myself increasingly troubled by the waste generated through promotional marketing and by the industry’s lack of consciousness when it came to the environment.
Investing in the power of brand communications as a force for positive change, Green Envy Clothing Promotional provides quality promotional product alternatives that leave a lighter carbon footprint on the earth.
What kind of difficulties did you overcome on the way?
There are many challenges; some of the biggest difficulties have been financing, finding suppliers willing to create a partnership type relationship and staying competitive in price to the major retailers. Most of the company startup capital has been personal savings and credit. Another dynamic of today’s market is that consumers are constantly looking for a bargain. Organic Apparel and Eco-friendly promotional product does demand a slightly higher price point than traditional textiles and not all of today’s consumers and businesses see the benefits of sustainable promotional products and aligning promotional programs with their values.
Based on your experience, do you think a green business has any added value to businesses?
I truly do believe that green businesses has added value. It shows the value of a company. Today, being a “green” company can be as good for business as it is for the community. I think that “going green” is becoming main stream business and is here to stay. The uncertainty of today’s economy has business’s looking to attract new customers and being environmentally responsible business can give business’s an advantage in the marketplace.
