Tomorrow is Earth Hour which started in 2007 in Australia and has blown up worldwide in the past several years. Where it doesn’t seem to have as large an impact is in the U.S. If it is just a matter of promotion then please talk to your employees, friends, neighbors, and social media contacts. Let them know that to begin all they have to do is turn off their lights for 60 minutes on Saturday March 31st at 8:30pm. If that is the extent of the commitment they can make, that is a great start. However, there are even more ways to celebrate. Earthhour.org is a great resource to find community/citywide events and get ideas to go beyond the 60 minute commitment to reduce carbon emissions and stop climate change. Take the pledge: What are you willing to do to save the planet?
Tomorrow the world will celebrate by turning off lights in government buildings, historic sites, offices and businesses among others. If your city and business has yet to participate, get them to join the worldwide movement. The U.S. is a major contributor to climate change, so lets show the world that we can be a major part of the solution!
