1. What is the mission of your company/ngo? 

WAS Co focuses on the development of new sustainable building materials from the transformation of plastic, construction, and mining waste.

 

2. What is the most innovative or environmentally/socially impactful project/practice your company/NGO has implemented?

Advanced material made from mining waste, which functions as filler, fly ash or clinker to produce cement and concrete. We transform the mining waste to create the unique sustainable clinker in the market to sell the clinker to cement companies and they can produce the most sustainable cement and concrete in the market.

3. How have those projects positively impacted the local community and/ or your country?

• Carbon Footprint Reduction: Our technologies do not require high energy consumption. Reduction of CO2 emissions of up to 50%.
• Low or competitive prices: Cost reduction from 10% to 40%.
• Sustainable Construction Materials with advances and nanotechnology processes: Contact Formwork, Bricks, “Zero Residue Cement”, others.
• Speeding up construction time by 30%, our materials are very lightweight and easy to use, helping our clients speed up their time to build.

 

4. Please share any new projects you will be implementing in the near future.

We will participate in 2 soccer stadiums in Mexico:
• The future project is executing in Mérida, Yucatán, using our material to the facade of the soccer stadium “Estadio Sostenible de Yucatán” by Juego de Pelota.

• The future project is executing in Monterrey, N.L., using our material to the facade and seats of the park & soccer stadium of Tigres U.A.N.L. by Juego de Pelota.

 

5. What are your top 3 career accomplishments?

• In personal accomplishments I received the prize of “Inventor of the Year” by MIT Innovators Under 35 LATAM in 2022.
• WAS Co was selected among the “30 Promise Forbes” promising businesses by Forbes Mexico in 2023.
• We are one of the most important startups building the future of construction by Solar Impulse Foundation, Holcim Accelerator, Urban Tech Forward, and Forbes.
