San Diego recently hosted the Green Data Center Conference and Exhibition 2012 by GSMI where the U.S Green Chamber of Commerce joined 500 attendees for a three-day informational platform about optimizing facilities with efficiency innovations in storage, design, and operational excellence. It was proclaimed as the largest and most Sr. Level data center event yet.
Participants learned about heating and cooling techniques, servers that ran on wind power, and various energy solutions that could save companies hundreds of thousands of dollars when it came to energy efficiency.
The conference highlighted speakers including keynote Christina Page, Global Director of Energy Strategy, for Yahoo!, KC Mares, President of MegaWatt Consulting, and a Green Grid Executive panel consisting of
Jack Pouchet, Director of Energy Initiatives, Emerson Network Power,
Mark Monroe, Executive Director, The Green Grid,
and Jud Cooley of Oracle.
The conference also included a tour of the San Diego Supercomputer Center. There was a great deal of knowledge and networking to be had. The U.S. Green Chamber was proud to be a media sponsor at the event and looks forward to learning more about the trends in the national shift to energy efficient strategy’s.
