Waterborne illnesses affect 40 million Indian people every year. But Piramal Water Private Limited, an organization in rural India, has a plan to solve this problem. Their idea is to meet the need for clean water with solar-powered, h2O-dispensing ATMs. These machines are franchised around villages, and a liter of water costs the people just $.006 or less. (The average Indian’s income is $.60 a day.)
What a brilliant idea!
