The U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce launched this week in San Diego County, California, where the San Diego Green Chamber decided to become a national organization.
The nationwide organization says it will provide education, advocacy and visibility to empower businesses to grow through environmentally and socially responsible practices.
According to CEO David Steel, “We have accomplished tremendous growth since our founding in 2009. Expanding our presence by becoming the U.S. Green Chamber allows us to bring our message of advocacy and sustainability to help more businesses across the country.”
To increase its reach and awareness, the U.S. Green Chamber is actively creating strategic alliances with likeminded groups such as E2 – Environmental Entrepreneurs , Entrepreneurs’ Organization, chambers and workforce partnerships.
“There is a strong sense of urgency from business leaders everywhere to learn best practices for sustainability. With its rapid membership growth, exceptional events and recognition from other well-respected organizations, the U.S. Green Chamber is poised to make a significant impact on the environment and these businesses’ bottom line,” said E2 Southern California Chapter Director Lee Stein.
Plans are underway for U.S. Green Chamber programs in the areas of education, advocacy and member networking. A comprehensive membership directory, calendar of national events and distance-based learning through webinars are among the tools the organization would like to make available to its members.
