Each year people and cities from around the world honor our planet by turning out their lights for one symbolic hour—-EARTH HOUR. The event, sponsored by World Wildlife Fund, began in Sydney Australia in 2007 when 2 million people switched off their lights to support environmentally sustainable action. The hour, from March 31st 8:30-9:30pm, is now observed by 135 countries and territories!
