U.S Green Chamber’s 1st webinar!
On May 29th 2015, the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce held its first webinar as part of the the USGCC 2015 National Education Webinar Series.
World-renowned Ashoka fellow and CEO of Recycle Across America™, Michelle “Mitch” Hedlund, spoke about how to super charge your recycling program within your business.
She spoke about critical information going on in the recycling community such as, Waste Management, the country’s largest trash hauler, thinking about stopping their recycling program. Mitch said this is a “call to action to come together as a society and make it easy for the general public to learn to recycle right, to make it easy for them to recycle properly and I think we have a responsibility as businesses to not only recycle, but to present it in such a way that it is part of a society wide movement. It’s time for another standardization to solve a solution, it’s time for recycling to be a highly productive, effective, efficient, and highly economically valuable industry, along with Manufacturing using recycled content. It needs to become the new norm”
“Recycle Across America is a complete game changer for the world of recycling and we highly encourage all businesses, governments, non-profits, and agencies around the country to quickly adopt this standardized program.” stated Michelle Thatcher, CEO of U.S Green Chamber of Commerce. “If we don’t all do something quickly, it could have catastrophic effects on both the businesses supported by this industry and the environment overall.”`
