Courtney became interested in sustainable practices when she first learned about recycling, reusing, and reducing in elementary school. She went on to earn her Girl Scout Gold Award by organizing two beach clean-ups, creating an educational awareness video, and presenting to elementary school classrooms about the importance of keeping local San Diego beaches and communities clean. Courtney was also an active member of the Isla Vista chapter of the Surfrider Foundation while earning her B.A. in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Courtney loves being outside whether she’s hiking, reading at the beach, walking her dog, or enjoying the patio dining of a new restaurant.
