A Solana Beach company says business is booming in connecting people with solar installers, energy auditors and green contractors.
Greener Dawn operates hundreds of websites that give people information on solar installations and energy savings, collects their information, and then sells it to contractors and installers as sales leads.
“We’re a technology company that does marketing,” said company President Courtland Weisleder.
It recently inked a deal with satellite television provider Dish Network to market its services to its users.
The goal is to promote green jobs by linking providers to people ready to buy, Weisleder said.
“We provide knowledge on solar, return on investment, payback case studies,” he said.
People who want more information fill a form and have the opportunity to talk with an expert.
The solar installers, energy auditors and contractors pay for the leads. His company also provides lead management, call-center cervices and can also offer financing and equipment leasing.
“Anyone can create a lead, but how do you create value around that lead,” Weisleder said.
After making the deal with Dish, the company is seeking additional partnerships with businesses with captive audiences, such as financial services companies and sports leagues.
He expects green businesses to grow in coming years.
The focus on sales leads came after paring back several other efforts Greener Dawn tried after its founding in March, 2009.
“I threw a lot against the wall when we started,” he said.
