877MyJuicer.com was founded in 2004 by Andrew Casey, the current owner and CEO, with the goal of providing affordable appliances that help sustain healthy lifestyles.
“877MyJuicer.com was founded on the basic principle of feeling better,” said Casey. “In 2003, I searched Google for ‘feel better’ to [find] anything that might lift my general spirit and my body’s health. What came up? Wheatgrass.”
Casey purchased his first juicer and began juicing wheatgrass soon after. He found that its health benefits made him feel happy and energized. When he realized his juicer was of relatively low quality, he sold it on eBay–and it sold quickly.
“It sold so quickly I thought ‘Hmm…maybe I should start selling juicers!’ With a background in eCommerce and internet marketing, I began developing the site and forging relationships with the top manufacturers of juicers. Within a couple of months, I was unloading a container of 2000 juicers into a leaky warehouse in the middle of Oklahoma.”
877MyJuicer carries over 1200 different products, ranging from blenders and juicers to rice cookers and dehydrators. Casey still juices wheatgrass with a manual juicer–the Healthy Juicer.
In order to be sustainable, the company uses recycled packing materials, envelopes, and brochures for promotional materials. To cut down on paper, they do not include invoices with shipments and use e-mail newsletters.
“Our vision is a world where more merchants try to do their part like we are,” added Casey.
