US Green Chamber member PaintGreen explains that they felt a responsibility to reduce the impact they have on the environment while still providing the best quality, eco-friendly products and painting services available.
“Green attitude runs deep in the organization,” explained Jon Ray, owner and founder of PaintGreen Professional Painters. “We use sustainable office products, drive old trucks that get good gas mileage, and use the expensive roller covers that are reusable and renewable.”
PaintGreen was founded in 2007 with one employee: Ray, who has been a painter for nearly fifteen years. Now, four years later, his team includes two salespeople, an office manager, and four painting crews.
“We’ve seen huge growth despite the poor economy,” Ray said. “We are the highest rated painter on Yelp.com, angieslist.com, kudzu.com, and have received multiple customer service awards.”
In order to be sustainable, the painters use canvas dropcloths instead of rolls of plastic. They also use non-toxic paint and ensure that their work is top-notch and will last for years to come.
Ray says that his goal for the future of PaintGreen is to be 100% solar, including the use of electric vehicles plugged into solar panels on the roof.
“Our values at PaintGreen align closely with the values at the Green Chamber, so membership was a natural fit,” Ray added.
